March has set a new record for numbers of airport arrivals, with 791,297 travellers, beating the previous record set the month prior.

In January this year the island recorded more than 671,000 travellers and February recorded 700,000 travellers, however, March has set a new record with 791,000 travellers. This is a 14.2% increase on the same month last year according to data provided by AENA.

In March last year there were 692,985 travellers, which was already an increase of 14% over the previous year. March 2014 recorded 506,720 passengers, 36% less than those who passed through the airport last month.

So far this year, airports in the Canary Islands have registered 13,651,816 travellers, which is a 12.2% increase compared to the same period last year.
