Spanish President Pedro Sánchez has offered commiserations to Morocco following last night’s earthquake, which has killed 632 people so far.
The 7.2 magnitude earthquake occurred in the High Atlas mountains of Ighil, around 500 kilometres from Lanzarote, causing widespread damage in rural villages and the city of Marrakech.
Sánchez tweeted “ All my solidarity and support to the people of Morocco following this terrible earthquake… Spain stands with the victims of this tragedy and their families.”
