A 60-year-old British woman was rushed to hospital yesterday after suffering signs of drowning at Playa de las Cucharras in Costa Teguise.
Lifesavers on the beach were first to attend to the woman, and local police officers and a Canarian Health Service ambulance were called to the beach.
Once in a stable condition, the woman was then taken to the Dr José Molina Orosa Hospital in Arrecife.
