San Bartolomé Ayuntamiento has announced the resurfacing of the track that leads up to Montaña de Mina.
Montaña de Mina is a volcano to the east of San Bartolomé, easily recognised because of the wind turbines and radar installations on its summit.
San Bartolomé mayor, Isidro Pérez, said “This will permit better access to the cultivated areas in this zone. Lots of farmers use this route daily, so it was necessary to improve the road to ensure their safety.”
The works cost €343,000, and Works Councillor Raúl de León claims that they meant that 90% of the council’s resurfacing project is n ow completed.
