An Airbnb user in Arrecife has caused controversy by offering visitors the possibility of “urban camping” staying in various dome tents located on the roof of their property. The average price is €15 a night.
Guests will be able to use the indoor facilities, such as the kitchen and bathroom, but are forbidden to enter private rooms.
While some guests have reported that the tents are “clean and comfortable”, others have complained that an extra blanket costs €5.
Smoking is banned in the property, with penalties of €500. The owner also reserves the right to penalise guests with a fine of €35 for “going into the wrong room, tent or bed.”
