10,000 kilogrammes of plastic bottle tops have been collected by Lanzarote schoolchildren this year, and will go towards helping children with special needs.
Hugo Delgado, councillor of the waste disposal at the Cabildo, announced that the tapones solidarios (supportive bottletops) campaign had been a great success, and announced that proceeds from the bottletops would go towards treatment for young Gabriel Padilla, who is suffering from cerebral paralysis; as well as on a wheelchair for a girl called Sofía.
