14 people died with Covid on the Canary Islands in the last three days. However, infections continue to fall as the islands recover from the recent wave of the virus.
One of the victims was 46 years old. The rest were between 56 and 97. All suffered from “previous conditions”, according to the Canarian Health Service. Seven deaths occurred on Gran Canaria, four on Tenerife, two on La Palma and one on Fuerteventura. More than 2,000 people have now died with Covid on the islands since March 2020.
Nevertheless, the recent wave of the virus now appears to have subsided, and has been falling constantly since early July. Lanzarote is the best-performing of all seven islands, with all eight indicators on infection rates in the over-60s and hospital capacity classed as “under control.”
