Sports clubs against fish farms

Watersports associations gathered at Arrecife's Sailing Club yesterday to express their total opposition to the planned fish farms off the coast of Arrecife, Playa Honda and Matagorda.

The first hotel

Lanzarote's Cabildo has announced that four reports have supported the listing of the Hotel Oriental building, opposite Hiperdino on Arrecife's main shopping street Calle Real, as an asset of cultural interest.

Bus company to expand staff and fleet

The CCOO trade union have announced that Arrecife Bus/Intercity Bus will be expanding their staff and the fleet of vehicles in the near future to accommodate the rise in usage and address the lack of staff issue.

Comet C/2022/E3 will be at its most visible tonight, and anyone in a dark place without light contamination should be able to see a phenomena that will not be repeated for another 50,000 years.

Into the play-off zone

In the last game of the year, on 17th December, UD Lanzarote confirmed their status as serious contenders with a superb 1-4 away victory against the much-fancied UD Tamaraceite, as Argentine striker Di Renzo banged in a hat trick and lifted his team into the play-off zone. Ian Lane reports:

The Canarian Government has selected the Yaizatun SA company to carry out fish farming in a zone further off the coast of Lanzarote.
