The Zodiac inflatable was intercepted half a nautical mile from Los Cocoteros, and contained 53 migrants as well as the body of the woman who had died on the voyage.
Another inflatable, also containing 53 people, was intercepted further out to sea earlier on Tuesday morning.
Meanwhile, the whereabouts of another patera – a wooden boat containing 51 migrants – is unknown after being reported missing by family members.
