Spain’s weather agency, AEMET, has issued a yellow alert for rain today. The alert lasts from 10 am in the morning to 6 pm tonight (Tuesday, 12th January).

The forecast is for a 40-70% chance of rain, with 15 mm per hour predicted. The rain will be light to moderate, although there is a chance of heavy showers and even storms.  The north of the island is likely to be more affected than the southern areas.

The Canarian Government has backed up the yellow alert by issuing a pre-alert for rain and advises citizens to be prepared for possible heavy downpours.
