A yellow rain alert has been issued for this afternoon (Sunday 22nd March) as Storm Therese continues to bring unsettled, changeable weather to Lanzarote
The alert is in place from 2 pm until midnight, and rainfall of up to 15 mms per hour is predicted by Spain’s weather agency, AEMET, with a possibility of thunderstorms.
South and south-westerly winds will continue, causing planes arriving at César Manrique Airport to continue landing from the north, swooping low over the main LZ-2 road. Current forecasts indicate that the wind will shift back to the normal northern alisios on Wednesday.
