Spain’s weather agency, AEMET, has issued yellow heat alerts for the next three days on Lanzarote.
The alerts apply between the hours of 11 am and 8 pm on Saturday 1st, Sunday 2nd and Monday 3rd of August.
Today, maximum temperatures are forecast to reach 34 degrees Celsius, rising to 35 degrees on Sunday and Monday. Inland areas and the south-eastern coast will experience the hottest weather, which could reach 37 degrees.
Yellow alerts are the lowest level of weather warning, advising citizens to remain informed and reconsider activities that may be affected by the weather.
