Yaiza’s Mayor, Óscar Noda, announced the main points of his 2026 budget, estimated at €33.7 million euros, at a press conference yesterday.

Noda also highlighted a surplus of almost €23 million, which will be used for public infrastructure projects such as a new Playa Blanca library near Montaña Roja school, and the Camel House in Uga.

€7 million will also be allocated to the completion of the sports pavilion and Playa Blanca’s football pitch.

€2.8 million has been allocated for rubbish collection and an additional €1 million for outsourcing maintenance of the municipality’s parks and green spaces.

Noda also claimed that the budget would have a strong social focus, increasing home care services for the elderly, among several other initiatives.

The tourism budget also includes funds for tourism promotion and the organisation of events to boost tourism.

The budget will be presented to the council for approval tomorrow, Friday 29th May.
