D.O. Lanzarote is celebrating after two wines from Bodega La Geria secured gold medals at the 2026 Frankfurt International Trophy. Manto Malvasía Volcánica Seco and Manto Tinto 3 Meses Barrica both earned top honours at the prestigious competition in Germany.

The council said: “These awards once again place Lanzarote wines on the international stage and recognize the uniqueness of a viticulture that is one-of-a-kind in the world, shaped by the volcanic landscape, the dedication of the winemakers, and the exceptional character of its grape varieties.”

The gold medal for Manto Malvasía Volcánica Seco “highlights the freshness, elegance, and mineral expression of the white wines produced on the island, with Malvasía Volcánica as one of their leading varieties.”

Meanwhile, the gold awarded to Manto Tinto 3 Meses Barrica “also highlights the potential of Lanzarote’s red wines, which are capable of expressing the volcanic character of the territory with distinct personality and competing successfully in prestigious international competitions.”

Jorge Rodríguez, president of the Regulatory Council, expressed his satisfaction: “These two gold medals are wonderful news for Bodega La Geria. They reflect the excellent work being done in Lanzarote and confirm that our wines, born of a unique volcanic terroir, continue to win over palates both within and beyond our borders.”
