6,665 new vehicles were registered on Lanzarote last year, the highest annual figure since before the Covid pandemic.
The municipality with the most registrations was San Bartolomé, with 2,121 vehicles, suggesting that many of the registrations were airport hire cars. Arrecife was the next highest, with 1,571 vehicles.
Meanwhile, Tías registered 1,433 vehicles, more than the two other resort municipalities, Teguise (531) and Yaiza (722), combined.
The vast majority of vehicles were cars, but 99 lorries, 51 buses and 606 motorbikes were also registered.
The most recent figure for the total amount of vehicles on Lanzarote, from 2024, stated that there were almost 145,000 vehicles of all types.
