One of the most distinctive buildings in Arrecife will be renovated and converted into accommodation for disabled people.

The building, with its unique façade of bottle-green glass bricks, was once the headquarters of the ONCE (Spanish National Organisation for the Blind), the disabled charity that runs Spain’s most important lottery.

It will be adapted to become a residence for disabled or dependent individuals, with 15 places available.

A sum of €5 million has been spent on the purchase of this and three other buildings by the Canarian Government, who will pass the title to the Cabildo. Two of the other buildings are also in Arrecife, with room for 30 residents, while the fourth is in Tinajo.
