A new species of sea slug has been discovered in Puerto del Carmen.
Named Lomanotus tias, after the municipality in which it was discovered, the 2mm sea slug was discovered on a rocky seabed in Puerto del Carmen.
The discovery was described in the tropical biodiversity journal Avicennia by Jesús Ortea and Leopoldo Moro, and is the ninth new species discovered in Tías. It was collected last November by diver Dennis Rabelling at a depth of six metres.
