Tías Ayuntamiento has completed further improvements to Plaza Cruz Roja in Puerto del Carmen, adding new shaded areas and planting native species as part of plans to create a greener public space.
The work has been carried out by the council’s Department of the Environment, with the aim of making the square a more attractive place for residents and visitors to meet and relax.
Recent planting has included specimens of tabaiba, tamarisk, dragon trees, verol, tajinastes and bejeques, together with carob and ficus trees.
As part of the renovation, the square has also been fitted with additional shaded areas, new street furniture and increased planting to create a more comfortable environment for both relaxation and socialising.
The council said the improvements form part of its wider programme to make public spaces greener and more welcoming.
