Matagorda Beach in Puerto del Carmen is being showcased on the ONCE Daily Lottery ticket for the draw on Wednesday, July 15th, as part of the organisation’s “Beaches with Flags” series. A total of five million tickets featuring the Lanzarote beach will be distributed across Spain.

The commemorative ticket was presented by José Antonio López, ONCE delegate for the Canary Islands, and José Juan Cruz, mayor of Tías. They were joined by Vanessa Mendoza, director of the ONCE Agency in Arrecife; Nicolás Saavedra, first deputy mayor of Tías; Christopher Notario, councillor for beaches; and Begoña de Felipe, director of Hotel Ilunion Costa Sal.

Matagorda Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Puerto del Carmen resort. Stretching approximately 800 metres, it is known for its golden sand, calm waters and family-friendly atmosphere.

The “Beaches with Flags” collection, launched by ONCE last year, celebrates beaches that have consistently received the Blue Flag award in each Spanish province. The initiative aims to promote environmental conservation while recognising beaches that meet high standards for water quality, safety and visitor services.

The ONCE Daily Lottery offers a top prize of €500,000 for matching both the winning number and series, along with numerous secondary prizes. Tickets are available through ONCE’s network of more than 21,000 authorised vendors, online at juegosonce.es, and at authorised retail outlets.
