All recycling centres (punto limpio) in Lanzarote will close from 2pm on Wednesday, 9th September, to allow scheduled maintenance work to be carried out at the facilities.
The Cabildo has announced that all of the island’s recycling centres will close from 2pm on Wednesday, 9 September, while routine maintenance is undertaken.
Domingo Cejas, the councillor responsible for Waste Management, said: “this technical maintenance is absolutely necessary to optimise the service and ensure that the facilities continue to operate under the best possible conditions for users.”
Until 2pm on Wednesday, the recycling centres currently operating on the island will remain open during their normal opening hours. These are located in Arrecife (Maneje), San Bartolomé, Puerto del Carmen (Tías) and Playa Blanca (Yaiza).
The facilities are expected to reopen as normal the following day.
Recycling centres are normally open from Monday to Saturday between 8am and 6pm, and on Sundays and public holidays from 9am to 2pm. The service is free for all residents.
