Don’t forget that tomorrow, Thursday 15th September, is a public holiday on all of Lanzarote.

15th September is the Feast Day of the Virgin of Dolores, known as Our Lady of the Volcanoes on Lanzarote. It’s a holiday for the whole island, so many shops and businesses will be closed.

Larger supermarkets and many shops and bars in the resorts are likely to stay open, but if you’ve made any plans for tomorrow, it’s probably best to check first.

The Los Dolores festivities will continue tonight in Mancha Blanca with a free concert by two of Spain’s biggest artists: Melendi and Índia Martinez. The show starts at 10pm and is sure to be a huge event.

Tomorrow night at 9pm, the fiestas will end with a Canarian folk concert featuring performers such as Almudena Hernández and the brilliant timple player Domingo “El Colorao” Rodríguez.

The craft fair will also remain open on these two days, from 11 am to 10pm.
