A man has died after being stabbed in the street in Playa Blanca yesterday evening.
Emergency services received a call at around 8pm, informing them that a man had been attacked in C/El Correillo in the southern resort. However, when they arrived the victim was already dead.
The victim is reported to have been 40 years old, and his attacker, who has been arrested, was aged 69. Reports indicate that the incident arose following a fight about the alleged theft of a mobile phone.
IMPRISONED WITHOUT BAIL
The 69-year-old man who stabbed and killed a 40-year-old man in Playa Blanca earlier this week has been imprisoned without bail.
Police have stated they have sufficient evidence to believe they have arrested the perpetrator, and the suspect has confessed to the crime, which he claims was provoked by the alleged theft of a mobile phone.
It is the first case of homicide in Playa Blanca since 2009, when a businessman was stabbed at his home by an employee, allegedly over an unpaid debt.
