The Guardia Civíl has seized almost half a million euros worth of fake designer items and football strips from three shops in Puerto del Carmen.
An investigation began earlier this month, after six complaints were received in May by lawyers representing designer companies.
This resulted in a simultaneous inspection of three shops, when an assessor of brands confirmed that several of the garments and accessories on sale were fake.
As well as the clothes and bags, 85 metal plates with designer logos were also seized. It is alleged these would be attached to leather bags at the last minute to fool routine inspections.
