Around 100 residents of Costa Teguise gathered yesterday to protest over ongoing concerns linked to an abandoned hotel that has become one of the resort’s most prominent eyesores.

Protesters allege that some of the people occupying the unfinished building have been involved in criminal activity, including drug dealing, theft and occasional violent incidents. Demonstrators joined hands near the site and signed a petition calling on both the owners of the property and Teguise Town Hall to take action.

The petition demands the evacuation of the building and the implementation of effective security measures to prevent further unauthorised access.

The abandoned development has remained unfinished for more than 20 years and is widely regarded as one of the most unsightly structures in Costa Teguise. Residents say urgent action is needed to address both safety concerns and the impact the site is having on the area.
