Lanzarote is set to enjoy more connectivity with Madeira this summer, as airline Binter doubles its weekly flights between the two islands.

The announcement was made by the company during the Lisbon Tourism Exchange and was subsequently reported by the tourism news agency Hosteltur. It confirms that while in the summer of 2025 Biner scheduled just one flight per week connecting Lanzarote with Funchal, residents and visitors on the island will now have the choice of two weekly services.

This increase forms part of a broader expansion of air links between the Canary Islands and the Madeira archipelago. Across the Canary Islands as a whole, flights to Madeira will rise by seven per cent during the months of July and August.

Tenerife South will benefit from two weekly flights to Madeira, while Fuerteventura will have one. Gran Canaria will continue to serve as the primary hub for the route, operating eight weekly flights to Madeira in each direction throughout July and August.

In addition to the Madeira routes, Binter is advancing the start date of its direct flight between Tenerife North and Ponta Delgada in the Azores to June. Gran Canaria will also maintain its connections with the Azores between April and October.

The Madeira archipelago comprises two inhabited islands, Madeira and Porto Santo. Its capital is Funchal, located on the largest island, Madeira, which serves as the destination for Binter’s flights from the Canaries.
