55-Year-Old Airlifted to Hospital After Near Drowning on La Graciosa

A 55-year-old man was evacuated by helicopter from La Graciosa yesterday after nearly drowning.

At 3pm, emergency services received a call reporting that bathers had rescued another swimmer on the Playa de la Francesa, a sandy beach just south of Caleta de Sebo.

The Canarian Health Service deployed a medicalised helicopter, two ambulances and staff from La Graciosa’s Health Centre.

The man was airlifted to hospital in a “moderate” state.
