A French man has died after being rescued from the water in cardiac arrest at Caleta del Mero, in the north of Lanzarote, on Thursday.
According to the emergency services, they were alerted at around 12:55pm after a swimmer pulled the man from the water.
Those at the scene began CPR with assistance from the Canary Islands Emergency Services’ tele-assistance team.
When medical personnel arrived at the beach, they continued resuscitation efforts but were unable to reverse the cardiac arrest. The man’s death was subsequently confirmed.
