Tías Ayuntamiento has launched a campaign aimed at discouraging businesses from leaving bags of rubbish by the side of waste containers.

Aimed mainly at hotels, cafes and restaurants, the aim of the campaign is to prevent the accumulation of binbags that “spill onto the pavement, block the passage of pedestrians and create an unsightly image.”

The council reminds the owners of establishments that bottles and other glassware should be taken out of bags and deposited in the green containers. Bags containing plastic, paper or general waste should be placed in the corresponding container.

If containers are full, the council advises that rubbish be kept on the premises until they are emptied. It reminds businesses that leaving bags on the street is prohibited by both national laws and municipal by-laws

If businesses have enquiries about obtaining containers for glass recycling, they are advised to contact the Ecovidrio company on the free phone line 900 555 700, email: atencion.ecovidrio@ecovidrio.es or via WhatsApp on 629 045 150.
