Spain’s weather agency, AEMET; has issued a yellow wind alert for Lanzarote extending from 8am today (Wednesday 5th August) until midday on Thursday 6th August.
The alert warns of gusts that could reach up to 70 kph, with the southern slopes of Lanzarote expected to experience the worst of the wind.
Otherwise, the weather is predicted to be hot and sunny, although fresher than in recent days. Temperatures are predicted to be in the high 20s, with maximums of around 32-33 degrees Celsius.
This signifies an end to the recent heatwave, which saw temperatures of almost 40 degrees in some parts of the island.
