Two wines produced in Lanzarote have been recognised at the Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) 2026, one of the wine industry’s most prestigious international competitions.

The awards were announced following a blind tasting process carried out in London by a panel of more than 200 wine experts, including Masters of Wine, with over 16,000 wines entered from around the world.

Bodegas Vega de Yuco secured both of Lanzarote’s medals. Its Princesa Gara 2022, a Malvasía Volcánica wine aged on its lees, received a Silver Medal. Judges highlighted its acidity, mineral character and varietal expression.

The winery’s Princesa Fayna Brut Nature 2019 sparkling wine was awarded a Bronze Medal, recognising its production using traditional methods and extended ageing.
