Arrecife Ayuntamiento has unveiled the programme for its new campaign, “¡Qué bien me sabe Arrecife!”, an initiative designed to promote local produce, support local businesses and showcase the cultural traditions of both the capital and Lanzarote.
The first event in the series will take place on Saturday 23rd May at the Mercado de Abastos in Plaza de Las Palmas, with a morning of traditional music and dance performances.
The events will begin between 10.30am and 11.30am with a performance by the Parranda Marinera de Buches, followed from 12pm to 1pm by Coros y Danzas de Arrecife, two groups recognised for preserving Lanzarote’s folk heritage.
Mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, said the campaign aims to bring “local produce and our traditions closer to the public” while helping to revitalise important commercial spaces such as the Mercado de Abastos.
Councillor for Trade, Eli Merino, explained that the initiative combines gastronomy, commerce and culture through activities designed to highlight local heritage while supporting businesses and producers.
The campaign forms part of the project “Strengthening and Promoting the Production and Consumption of Local Produce”, financed through a grant from the Lanzarote Cabildo.
More events will be held across the municipality in the coming weeks as part of the campaign, with the goal of encouraging commercial activity and increasing awareness of local products from Arrecife and Lanzarote.
