The search for Miguel Ángel Gentile, the 41-year-old Uruguayan who is believed to have gone missing on the cliffs of Famara, enters its fifth day today.
Gentile’s car was discovered at the car park on the Camino de las Rositas, near Yé, on Wednesday. The Camino is the usual departure point for hikers taking the Camino de las Gracioseras, the steep cliffside trail down to the Playa del Risco. The car is believed to have been there since April 5th.
Helicopters, drones and sniffer dogs have failed to locate any trace of the missing man, and the search will now focus on the coast, with agents on jet-skis combing the area. Drones are also being Guardia Civil agents are also triangulating Gentile’s mobile phone signals, in order to get a better idea of his movements before his disappearance.
