Supermarket scare in Arrecife as man tries to steal bottles of olive oil

A supermarket in Argana Alta experienced a tense incident this Monday when an alleged thief made off with several bottles of olive oil, triggering a confrontation with security.

The incident unfolded when the supermarket’s security guard spotted the suspect running from the premises with the stolen goods. He immediately gave chase, according to a report from La Voz.

The pursuit ended when the security guard caught up with the individual, at which point a struggle broke out between the two. During the altercation, the employee sustained various injuries to different parts of his body. He was subsequently treated at Dr. Jose Molina Orosa Hospital.

Officers from the National Police arrived at the scene and arrested the man suspected of the theft.
