Four people injured at Los Charcones

Emergency services attended four people who were injured by a surging wave at Los Charcones yesterday.

Despite the existence of a pre-alert for rough weather throughout the Canaries, two couples, reported as being French and Catalan, visited the rocky pools near Playa Blanca. While bathing in the pools, a large wave surged over the plateau, dashing them against the rocks.

Two men and a woman were taken to the Dr José Molina Orosa Hospital and treated for various cuts and bruises while a fourth woman was checked up at Playa Blanca’s Health Centre.
