Haria council complains about wonky wind toy

Haría council has complained that the wind toy created by César Manrique at Arrieta roundabout, which was recently replaced after renovation works, has broken again.

The sculpture was replaced in July and was working well by September, when its renovation was officially announced, but it has since developed “A deviation which affects its equilibrium”, despite the absence of adverse weather conditions. 

Haría Mayor Alfredo Villalba requested “the immediate repair of the wind toy using appropriate materials that will guarantee its conservation.”

José Torres Stinga of Haría’s technical office added that “repairs must be carried out with utmost professionalism “and called for a review of conservation measures.
