In a record-breaking month, tourist accommodation in Lanzarote earned over €100 million in a single month, with August 2025 setting a new revenue record.

According to the latest figures from the Lanzarote Data Centre, the total revenue for tourist accommodation soared to €101.6 million, marking the highest monthly earnings the sector has ever seen.

A breakdown of the revenue shows that hotels were the primary drivers, earning €79 million – an increase of three million compared to the same period last year. Non-hotel establishments, including apartments and villas, also saw an increase, contributing €22.6 million to the total, which is also three million more than in August 2024.

This record was achieved not through higher occupancy, but by higher prices per stay. The data reveals that the average daily rate in hotels rose to €164.85, a 5.1% increase from August 2024. The non-hotel sector saw an even steeper rise, with the average rate jumping 12.2% to €105.50.

This latest record came despite a slight dip in tourist numbers. A total of 268,395 visitors stayed in registered accommodation, down from 271,226 the previous year. These guests also stayed for fewer nights, with 1.6 million overnight stays recorded compared to 1.7 million in August 2023.

Hotels created 535 more jobs than in August last year, while the non-hotel sector added a further 122 positions. The total workforce in the accommodation sector now stands at 9,924 employees in hotels and 2,404 in non-hotel establishments.
