Lanzarote residents complain about buggy tours

A group of Guatiza residents has complained to Teguise Ayuntamiento about buggy tours in the area.

“The constant presence of these tours is causing a serious environmental impact on the area, with soil erosion, destruction of rural roads, impact on biodiversity, invasion of private spaces, and increased noise pollution and airborne dust,” the group claims.

They also allege that buggy pilots have insulted or threatened people when it is pointed out that they are breaking rules.

Earlier this year, the Cabildo issued a notice to all Ayuntiamientos on the island that quad and buggy excursions on rural land were prohibited.
