A passenger onboard an easyJet flights from France to Lanzarote died last Tuesday (September 16th), following a mid-flight medical emergency.

The airline confirmed that flight EJU6775, departing from Nantes Atlantique Airport, requested priority landing at Lanzarote Airport after a passenger required urgent medical attention.

Despite the best efforts of the cabin crew, the passenger was pronounced dead after the aircraft landed.

In a statement, an easyJet spokesperson said: “Our cabin crew provided first aid, and the flight was met by emergency services. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the customer, and we are offering support and assistance at this difficult time. The wellbeing of our passengers and crew is always easyJet’s highest priority.”

The incident caused significant disruption to the aircraft’s schedule. According to reports in French media, including Ouest-France, the return flight to Nantes was delayed by approximately eight hours, eventually landing around 11pm local time.

No further details regarding the identity of the passenger or the cause of the medical emergency have been released at this time.
