Hunting continues to be suspended in Haría after new episodes of poisoning were detected.
The decision was taken after at least four dead ravens were discovered in an area where previous poisonings had occurred. The Canarian raven is a highly protected species.
Hunting had been scheduled to restart yesterday, but Cabildo hunting councillor Samuel Martíun said that it would be “reckless” to lift the suspension if the safety of animals could not be guaranteed and suggested that the hunting season may be extended to compensate for the closure.
