The Ryanair flight set off from Tenerife to Prestwick in Scotland on May 18th. However, during the flight a British woman reportedly started becoming aggressive towards the flight crew and other passengers.

The events that followed eventually led to the decision to divert and ground the plane in Portugal so that the unruly passenger could be removed by police.

Footage shared on TikTok by a fellow passenger shows the British woman being escorted off the plane into a nearby shuttle bus. After that the video cuts to a clip of the woman physically fighting the two officers that escorted her to the bus before being restrained on the floor.

The passenger that filmed the incident, Blair Morgan, described being “distressed and scared” when speaking to the MailOnline about the incident.

“She was assaulting passengers whilst being drunk and vaping up and down the aisle. She was also standing up on seats, and taking people’s headphones off and talking to them, threatening to hurt and bottle them”, Blair told MailOnline.

RYANAIR STATEMENT

“The flight from Tenerife South to Glasgow Prestwick (May 18) was diverted to Faro after a passenger became agitated on board. The crew requested assistance from the police, who met the aircraft on landing at Faro airport and offloaded the passenger before the flight continued to Glasgow Prestwick.

Ryanair has a strict zero tolerance policy towards passenger misconduct and will continue to take decisive action to combat unruly passenger behaviour, ensuring that all passengers and crew travel in a safe and respectful environment, without unnecessary disruption.”
