30 years of quality at Seaside Los Jameos

The Seaside Los Jameos playa is one of the most outstanding hotels in the canaries, a firm favourite with thousands of Lanzarote lovers year after year. Recently the stunning Matagorda hotel celebrated its 30th anniversary, and improvement plans mean that many more successful years are on the way.

There’s an air of class when you step into the lobby of the Seaside Los Jameos, which was created in the style of the traditional courtyard found in old Canarian mansions. The entire hotel is designed to reflect local traditions, as well as the more modern legacy of César Manrique and, while it is completely up-to-date, there’s also a feeling of stepping back to a time when tourism was more sophisticated, elegant and luxurious.

The hotel offers three highlights. First there is its location – an unparalleled seafront spot on Playa Matagorda with stunning views over Playa Los Pocillos to the west. It’s one of the jewels of Lanzarote’s biggest resort, Puerto del Carmen.

Second is the hotel’s gastronomy. The Seaside Los Jameos has always been at the forefront of cuisine on Lanzarote and was an active participant in last year’s Saborea Food Fair at Teguise. Head Chef Vicente Rodríguez is a local lad from Las Breñas whose commitment to local ingredients and insatiable curiosity have made the hotel a must-visit not only for guests, but for many residents on the island.

Third is the service that the hotel provides, which is unmatched. Four years ago, the pandemic halted tourism to Lanzarote but the Seaside Los Jameos took advantage of the break to carry out amazing renovations of its outside areas. The hotel is worth visiting just to enjoy its beautiful and immaculately kept gardens.

This year, the hotel will close its doors from March 1st until 30th June to renovate its rooms and interiors. We’d like to wish the Seaside Los Jameos all the best on its 30th anniversary and we can’t wait to see what it’ll be like in the summer.
