This year the two restaurants at the Castillo de San José and Islote de Fermina have recorded a 15% increase in income.
From January to July this year, Lanzarote’s CACT centres have earned almost 145,000 euros more than the same period last year which is an increase of 3.2% and almost 4.5 million euros in total for the year so far.
The biggest increases in income were recorded at the restaurants at the Castillo de San José and Islote de Fermina in Arrecife where income rose by 15% and 14.6% respectively.
CACT Director, Ángel Vázquez, stated that the restaurant at the stunning Castillo de San José is “the first on which we apply our roadmap.”
“It has been long and, at times, complex, but we are beginning to reap the rewards of the work done so that the restaurants in the tourist centres become the flagship of Lanzarote’s gastronomy”, Vázquez added.
“[The figures are] the result of a management model that is committed to the quality of local raw materials, rigour and criteria in purchasing, the creativity and enthusiasm of our kitchen and dining room professionals and the desire to surprise our customers”, he added.
The third and fourth largest increases were recorded at Bar Picasso in the El Almacén and at the restaurant at Jardín de Cactus where income rose by 10.8% and 7.6% respectively.
The restaurants at the Monumento al Campesino and Mirador del Río saw increases of 3%.
There is, however, one restaurant that recorded a decrease in income. The Jameos del Agua has recorded 7% less income than the same period last year, which the CACT attribute to the fact that they are renewing the “Noche de Jameos” nights that haven’t been available for some time.
