AEMET issue yellow coastal alert

AEMET has issued a yellow alert for high seas on Lanzarote for today and Saturday.

AEMET forecast waves of up to 5 metres may be experienced on the north-eastern coasts of the island. This has led Canarian emergency services to issue a warning, reminding citizens to take extra care by the sea at times like this.

As for today’s weather, it’s probably not a good beach day and you may want to fetch out a cardigan this evening.

Weather will be overcast with a 45% chance of rain in the afternoon. Temperatures will remain coolish, with daytime averages of around 20 degrees falling to possible minimums of 14 degrees overnight.
