Sun beds and parasols will return to Playa Reducto, Arrecife’s town beach, next year.
160 sun loungers and 80 parasols will be available to hire for next spring, as long as Arrecife Ayuntamiento receive the go-ahead from the Coastal Department, and the tender process goes according to plan.
The contact is estimated to be worth around €400,000 over a four-year term, with a maximum fee of €3 for hiring a sun bed for the day. Parasols will cost €2. and the winning contractor will bear the responsibility for cleaning the beach
The sun beds will be located near two hotels, the Gran Hotel and the Hotel Diamar, with large stretches of the beach left empty. By next spring, the Reducto area will also be pedestrianised.
