The Canarian Government has given the green light for the restoration of the waterfall at the Charco de San Ginés in Arrecife.
The thousands of residents and tourists who walk around the Charco every day cross a footbridge next to a large bank of rocks and boulders where bushes and trees grow. This was designed by César Manrique and is intended to be a waterfall; however, it has been out of service for several years.
Now, the General Directorate of Canarian Coasts has issued a certificate approving the restoration of the waterfall, a project which will include the installation of pipes, water pumps and lighting,
The works will be carried out by the Cabildo’s Public Works Department and have received the support of Arrecife Ayuntamiento. It is estimated that the project will be completed by late 2024.
