The diver whose body was recovered at Playa Chica on Monday was Hernán Lopéz Shanahan, a student at Arrecife’s Fishing School.
A resident of Tías, Hernán was studying Subaquatic Activities at the Escuela de Pesca. The school paid tribute to the young man’s “warmth and companionship, which will always leave an affectionate memory in our hearts.”
