The Mayor of Arrecife, Astrid Pérez, visited the new under-construction Open Mall shopping centre in Arrecife recently.
The new Open Mall shopping centre has divided opinions on whether it will help or hinder Arrecife, as many believe that it will act as the final nail in the coffin for Calle Real. The new shopping centre is just a stone’s throw away from the main bus station in the capital.
The Mayor stressed that “this initiative will serve as an economic incentive for Arrecife, and create jobs.”.
After an investment of 21 million euros, the Open Mall will open its doors to the public this Autumn. The shopping centre will have more than 32,000 square metres of usable space for shops, 92 commercial slots, kiosks and 952 underground parking spaces.
