The Cabildo has shared spectacular photos of a humpback whale breaching between the islands of Alegranza and La Graciosa, to the north of Lanzarote.
The photos were taken by Ginés Díaz Pallarés, a veteran ecologist who once headed the El Guincho ecology movement and is currently campaigning for the island of la Graciosa to be 100% renewable with the Sol de La Graciosa group.
The humpback whale is one of the largest cetaceans found off Canarian coasts.
