A group of 42 volunteers have removed plastic from Playa Flamingo, both on the beach and the seabed.

42 volunteers, 24 on land and 18 along the seabed, have clear Playa Flamingo of plastics and other waste last Saturday as part of organised clean-ups in Playa Blanca.

The Pura Vida diving centre and Kayak Lanzarote organise the regular beach clean-ups with the support of Yaiza Ayuntamiento.

Yaiza Mayor, Óscar Noda, thanked the volunteer work “because it is important to be able to remove kilos of rubbish that causes great damage to the ecosystem.”

Anyone is welcome to take part in the clean-ups alongside the organisers, Pura Vida diving and Kayak Lanzarote. Be sure to check their Facebook pages to find out when the next clean-up will be.
