The Guardia Civil have arrested a man suspected of several burglaries in villas and tourists apartments since May 2022.
The 40-year-old, who has a number of previous convictions, was caught red-handed when an alarm in a property alerted the police. The Guardia Civil then established that the suspect’s modus operandi coincided with that used in several other burglaries, mainly in Playa Blanca.
A search near the scene of the crime revealed a vehicle that contained documents belonging to the suspect, and the investigation led Guardia Civil officers to a flat where they found €85,000 worth of stolen property, including laptops, tablets, video game consoles, cameras and jewellery, as well as almost €8,000 in cash.
Several of the items have been returned to their owners, and the suspect is in prison awaiting trial.
